LSI Scholar Profile: Walter G. Johnson

The Center is home to an incredible faculty and host to the top minds at the intersection of law, science, and technology. But we also attract some of the brightest student scholars around; we think you should meet them. This is the first in an ongoing series profiling our Center Scholars.

Walter G. Johnson, class of 2020

Hometown: Tucson, Arizona

Education: BS in Chemistry & Masters in Science and Technology Policy

Walter is a 1L interested in governance of emerging technologies, particularly in the medical space. He researches and has written on topics including medical devices, molecular diagnostics, and the intersection of genome editing and AI in medicine. He also presented at the Center’s recent Community Board Reception.

Before attending law school, he completed his Masters in Science and Technology Policy at ASU’s School for the Future of Innovation in Society, worked in a neurosurgery clinic in the Phoenix metro-area, and received his BS in Chemistry.
