In a recently published article entitled The Use and Misuse of Genetic Data, ASU law Professor Gary E. Marchant outlines and discusses the most controversial of three identified applications of genetics: those based on pseudoscience. Marchant further pinpoints the five areas prone to misapplication of genetic information as those involving race, crime, behavior, medical and product-related functions. Examples provided demonstrate the often purposeful misuse of DNA analysis within each of the five contexts. A very concise, relevant and interesting read.
