Clash in the Name of Care

Care Clash

By James Maguire (JD candidate, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law) | Story courtesy of The Boston Globe

This expose covers many areas of the law: Medicaid and Medicare law; contract law; professional responsibility and legal ethics; malpractice and privacy law.   It also addresses specific concerns related to scientific research (and the lack thereof) in healthcare.  For those interested, this is a developing storyline about patients’ right to be informed competing against a world-renowned hospital that must balance patient care with opposing interests of making money, attracting talent, conforming to regulation, and interacting with the public in a way that continues to protect privacy, all while preparing for litigation.

From a delivery approach this is a technologically advanced, interactive article where you can select icons and read e-mails, watch video, see anatomical landmarks super-imposed over images as you scroll over with your cursor.  Enjoy.
