LSI Study Group Kicks Off 2016 With Big Data

The 2016 LSI Study Group had its 2016 debut on January 14.  The season’s first speaker was Arnie Calica who enlightened the group with his thoughts on big data.  He noted that finite data sets can easily get out of hand, discussed the classification of data sets, encryption, security, privacy, big data problems and other relevant characteristics of big data.  In attendance were several ASU law professors, law school students and LSI community members, including, Gary Marchant, Dennis Karjala, Michael Saks, Ira Ellman, Brad Allenby, Joel Garreau, Yvonne Stevens, Jim Hennessy, Lauren Burkhart and Michael Arkfeld.
