The 2016 Symposium has a focus on Transparency across the health care value chain.

Focusing on transparency in clinical practice, the program will be commenced with an address by Dr. Marty Makary from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and their Global Health Initiative.  Dr. Makary speaks nationally on new technology in surgical care, quality and safety in medicine, and health policy.  He is a regular medical guest on CNN and FOX News, and is the author of several books on public health and surgery, patient safety, quality of care, and health policy.

Following Dr. Makary’s address, a panel from leaders across the value chain will be moderated by Larry McComber.  McComber is an independent healthcare consultant with extensive experience in health system practice and group purchasing.  In 1997, following more than 20 years as a health system pharmacy executive, he joined VHA, and ultimately Novation, as Senior Vice President for Strategic Services. Prior to leaving Novation he provided leadership for several areas including marketing and sales, member relations, Novation’s private label program and committed programs.  He served as the executive liaison to Apexus, the prime vendor for the 340B pharmacy program and continues as chair of the Apexus Advisory Board.

The panel will include representatives of the health care supply chain industry including purchasing groups, suppliers, and information technology.  Panelists include:
