Technology Triple Trivia

TTT Dec 20153 Questions. 3 Hints. 3 Answers.

October 4, 2016

  1. What is one of the most challenging areas of practice for lawyers these days?

Hint:

Answer: misunderstanding of the internet and cybersecurity, in particular, is creating all sorts of problems from investigations and prosecutions to judgments.  Legal issues have moved beyond the scope of what is being taught in most law schools and that is a very big concern, leaving our society and its systems vulnerable.  Read the story here.

2. The do-it-yourself airplane kit can’t compare to this, but should we be worried?

Hint:

Answer: is the availability of do-it-yourself gene-editing kits worrisome?  While the inexpensive technology is easy to get a hold of, we have to ask whether the concern is as big as some might have us believe.  It is hoped that most people would not use these kits negligently or nefariously.  Nonetheless, even if precautions are taken, mistakes do happen and the greater the access, the greater the possibility of something going wrong.  Within better controlled systems, however, the technology has the potential to be life-changing, in a positive way.  Read more here.

3. Worried about your password getting into the wrong hands?  Do this instead:

Hint:

Answer: scientists have come up with a way to transmit digital passwords through the human body with the help of fingerprint sensors.  This allows for the unlocking of one device through another device via the human body, which is obviously much safer than texting a passcode or sending it via e-mail.  Read the details here.
