Faculty Fellow Klein Wins AMP Leadership Award

Faculty Fellow Dr. Roger D. Klein has been awarded the Jeffrey A. Kant Leadership Award by the Association of Molecular Pathology (AMP). This award recognizes individuals whose work demonstrates vision and leadership in the field of molecular pathology.

Dr. Klein is an active member in the AMP. He has, as noted by AMP, “played a pivotal role in helping to shape and influence CPT coding, pricing, reimbursement, accreditation quality, regulatory, and intellectual property policies that profoundly impact our membership and our field.”

Additionally, Dr. Klein served as a key expert and advisor in Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics, Inc. – a landmark case before the Supreme Court of the United States finding, by unanimous decision, that naturally occurring gene sequences, and derivative products of such genes, cannot be patented.
