LSI Scholar Profile: Kaylee Hoffner

Kaylee Hoffner
Class of 2021

Hometown: Batavia, Illinois

Education: B.S. Materials Science & Engineering, Ohio State University
M.S. Mechanical Engineering, John Hopkins

Kaylee obtained an undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Ohio State before moving to Charleston, South Carolina where she worked for the Boeing Company as an Equipment and Tooling Design Engineer. While working full time she began working on her Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering through Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals Program as part of the robotics and controls track. She has a background and strong interest in robotics, and hopes to focus on Intellectual Property and Patent Law through the Center for Law, Science and Innovation.

Fun Facts:

  • Has played (and taught) piano for almost 20 years.
  • Danced competitively in high school and college.
  • Coaches an elementary school robotics club and volunteers through the Junior League of Phoenix.
